Location:
Haverford Area YMCA, 891 North Eagle Road, Havertown, PA 19083
Description:
Dealing with our own racism. Facing backlash from our coworkers and loved ones. And becoming more authentic, human, and humane … these are just a few experiences we’ll learn about in regard to one group of Whites committed to fighting racism. In this interactive presentation, we’ll learn from this group of citizens working to bring about greater racial justice and equity in both their personal and professional settings. What can we learn from their trials and tribulations? How can we improve our own success stories, as we work to create a just world that benefits all, both Whites and People of Color? Dr. Krista Malott of Villanova University will draw from nearly 10 years of her research on antiracist activists, in an interactive and enjoyable manner—come prepared to share your own voice and brainstorm ideas for improving your own personal or professional work, no matter how small or difficult these efforts can be! The last in a spring series of antiracist events at the YMCA, people of all races are invited to join us in this no-judgement and get-active zone.
