Marcia Pelchat

Marcia Pelchat, Ph.D. is an Emeritus Faculty member in the Philadelphia region long associated with the Monell Chemical Senses Center. Her research examines how taste, smell, and other sensory systems influence eating behavior, food preferences, and nutrition-related decision-making. She has contributed extensively to studies on food cravings, dietary habits, and the relationship between sensory perception and health outcomes. She has also served in academic and advisory capacities, including editorial and grant review work within the nutrition and sensory science community. Her work is recognized for integrating neuroscience, psychology, and nutrition to advance public health research.

Rita Waters

Rita Waters is a community volunteer in Haverford Township, Delaware County, serving on the Senior Citizens Advisory Council representing Ward 8. In this role, she participates in township discussions and planning related to senior services, community needs, and aging-in-place initiatives. She helps bring local resident perspectives into municipal decision-making processes. She is part of the township’s network of appointed advisory board members supporting local government through feedback.
